His name might not be as well known as Einstein or Hawking, but John A. Wheeler is a pretty important name in physics especially considering that he helped develop the theory of nuclear fission (which eventually lead to the creation of the Atomic Bomb) and he also created the theory of black holes being formed from the collapse of a massive dying star.
